ABOUT KAWIKA
Kawika Cornelius loves seeing lives impacted and transformed by love, like his life was transformed in 1998. He was 15 years old and facing eight years in prison, charged as an adult, at the lowest place of his life – and love broke in! He explains it like this, saying, "I was facing eight years in prison, at the lowest place of my life, and love broke in, making me freer than I had ever been in my life, while incarcerated!!" It's this love of Christ that Kawika loves to share, whether it's at the church he pastors or around the world!
Rather than serving prison time, God did a miracle in the court system and Kawika was transferred back into juvenile-court and sentenced for two years in juvenile detention. After finishing his two years, in the Fall of 2001, he joined a college-age ministry training internship called Masters Commission. This was a powerful foundational-building time in his life!
Starting his second year of Masters Commission, in 2002, Kawika was in a life-threatening car accident paralyzing him from the shoulders down, and that same love that carried him through incarceration has fueled him for victory through this challenge. Since his car accident, Kawika received his Associates and Bachelors in Theology at Beacon University: Institute of Ministry Training. He's served in many different areas of ministry, from pastoral and outreach ministry, to reaching those in nursing homes and county jails. It's been an adventure!
Kawika currently serves as the senior pastor of Freedom and Joy Christian Center, a family-hearted, Spirit-filled church in Loveland Colorado. It's a hub where you'll: encounter God, be equipped to live life victoriously, and embraced like family, and extend your hands to touch the world with God's love. Kawika has a huge heart to see people saved, discipled, and launched to do the same! On that foundation, Kawika is passionate to see believers established in their true identity in Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, and become instruments of revival and outpouring in our region and the nations. He's felt God's calling to take what's been cultivated in Northern Colorado, to the nations – saving, discipling, and launching people into their God-given destinies!
It takes faithful partners to make this happen. Please consider being wind to Kawika's sailing, to impact the world with God's love and power!
Doors are opening for greater national and international impact. In December Kawika is believing for enough finances to be raised for a powerful trip to Kenya Africa. He'll see the lost saved, the saved discipled, and the discipled launched! If you'd like to help him reach his goal, your donation will be wind to his sailing, and his impact is your impact.
